Bathroom Remodeling

Remodeling a bathroom can be an exciting process, especially if you’re finally getting that bathroom you’ve always wanted! However, costs of bathroom remodeling, just like any type of remodeling, can quickly spiral out of control if you aren’t involved or ignore the budget. There are many benefits when it comes to bathroom remodeling, but there are drawbacks as well. Here at Chad Goodin Signature Homes, we want to help you avoid the biggest bathroom remodeling mistakes out there, including:

  • Making the area too personalized. Unless you are 100% sure that your home is going to be your forever home, do not add extremely personalized items to your bathroom remodel! Wacky colors or materials might actually deter buyers if you need to sell your home down the road. If you want personalization, try adding unique features in things that can be replaced, such as plumbing or light fixtures, paint, and accessories.
  • Not adding a contingency to the budget. Bathroom remodeling can bring up issues in terms of water leakage, mold, weak floor joists and more. Many of these things go unnoticed until you are mid-renovation, so make sure you have a decent fund set aside just for unexpected emergencies.
  • Choosing the wrong contractor. For every good contractor out there, you’re sure to hear about twice as many poor ones! Research your contractor thoroughly before committing and make sure that you see a sample of their work. Additionally, make sure that you have a good working relationship with your contractor. If they don’t return calls or you don’t feel your contractor understands your design ideas, look for someone else.

Bathroom remodeling can give you the bathroom of your dreams with the right contractor! We hope that this article helps you find the right contractor choice so you can be on your way to a pleasant and productive bathroom remodel.
